From deep underground to our next adventure! More New Mexico

We left Carlsbad and headed West. I wanted to get some Internet stuff done and thought a KOA would do all right for that and they will have good WiFi…so we stayed at the Lordsburg KOA. Adequate for our needs and pleasant enough.

We made our way to Oliver Lee State Park…

As this was an unserviced site we relied on the solar panel to keep us powered up and the water was across from the campsite…we had full tanks when we arrived so all was good. We realized that camping in the US near thanksgiving is challenging.

As usual we had to hike…or should I say that we get to hike! Yippee. We did well at the unserviced site and there were almost no people around.

A better view of the campsite as we climbed. The busy sites are serviced with water and power. They did have showers and that was great!

As we hiked out of the park we entered the Lincoln National Forest.

We were going to go to a place called the line cabin…but it was getting late…we did see the remnants.

So I retuned the favour…though she doesn’t look silly.

There was a bench on the way down.

As we descended the sun was setting.

Just fabulous and the photos don’t do any justice.

The sun was pretty low as we descended and finally made it down as it got dark.

The next day was something completely different.
