The Tucson Race…and more…

We met up with Jim and Tammie…we’d never been to an Eegee’s before. Very much like a Subway or Mr. Submarine BUT…they have frozen drinks that are fabulous.

They took us to the Mission San Xavier de Blanc just outside of Tucson, AZ

Linda thought this was a “where’s Waldo” moment for me.

I thought the way the cross was made was beautiful.

Jim and Tammie also introduced us to the works of artist “Ted” DeGrazia – this is the Gallery in the Sun where his works are shown. There is an interesting story about how he burned his paintings in protest of the inheritance tax here.

Tucson Race Start

Cold start to the Tucson Half Marathon…we had bought $1.99 blankets to keep us warm at the start.

Tucson Race Finish

Sweaty after the race and the temperature was T-shirt and shorts.

Jim and Tammie also introduced us to two wonderful people that you can see in the following video finishing the race. This is Duke’s first half marathon at 84 years old.

We went to the Sabino Canyon the next day and found a road runner.

This rock face was along the tram ride.

For some reason, I found this tree interesting.
